Permits Required for the 3 Day PoonHill Trek

Even though this is a short trek to PoonHill, trekkers must obtain a few permits to be eligible to ascend on the 3 Day PoonHill Trek. On the first day, the trekkers will meet our representatives or their guides for the trek right in their hotel in Pokhara. The representatives from Adventure Bound Nepal will receive the trekkers early in the morning after breakfast and take them on a drive from Pokhara to Nayapul. It takes about an hour to reach the starting point of the 3 Day PoonHill Trek.

After reaching Nayapul, the trekkers will get out of the vehicle and then the guides will take them on a trek. On the first day, we will trek from Nayapul to Ulleri which is located at an altitude of 1970 meters above sea level. Starting from Nayapul it takes an average trekker about 6 to 7 hours to reach Ulleri. We walk on the path passing through several beautifully settled villages like Hile and Tikhedhunga. In Tikhedhunga, the trekkers need to get their Trekkers Information Management System (TIMS) card checked before heading further on the trekking route. After that, we reach Birethati, trekkers need to get their Annapurna Conservation Area Permit, the entry permit for the PoonHill Trek map.

After that, we continue the trek and then finally reach to the destination of the day, Ulleri, after about 6 to 7 hours. In between, we will stop for lunch and explore some other parts of this section of the 3 Day PoonHill Trek route. Once you reach Ulleri, you will be standing at one of the most beautiful villages you have ever seen in your life. Traditional lifestyle, religious day-to-day life, greenery, a long-distance sight of the Himalayas, and so much more make this one of the best walks of your life. After a night stay in Ulleri, we set off on another section of the 3 Day PoonHill Trek. The journey begins on the second day's morning after the trekkers have their breakfast. From there, we follow a gentle ascend into the scenic route. This part of the trekking journey ascending to the PoonHill viewpoint offers some majestic views of the Machhapuchhre and Annapurna South. Furthermore, trekkers also get to explore the views of rhododendron blossom and Magnolia until we reach Bhanthani. After spending a little time in Bhanthani, have dinner and then walk for two more hours to reach Ghorepani.

As you reach Ghorepani, you can put your backpacks in the hotel and then explore the surrounding area. Moreover, we also suggest the trekkers interact with the locals and immerse themselves in the lifestyle, culture, and tradition. After about 4 to 5 hours of walking, staying in this peaceful, calm, and chilling village offers a time for refreshment and relaxation.

As this is the last day of the 3 Day PoonHill Trek, we will reach the final destination of the package on this day. Reaching from Ghorepani to PoonHill only takes 45 minutes of walking. So, just remember that, within 45 minutes of the third day, you will be standing on one of the most scenic and highly preferred viewpoints of the Annapurna region and even of the whole country.

Also, remember that standing on PoonHill means that you are standing in a place to get the most scenic views of the mountains of the Annapurna region and Machhapuchhre. We will spend a lot of time in PoonHill before descending to Hile. While on PoonHill, take as many photos and videos as possible and watch the mountains with the dream to ascend it once in your lifetime (if you are a trekking enthusiast). If you are here with your children and family, make sure that you ask questions to the guides and be clear about all the questions and queries that you have.

From PoonHill, it takes about 5 hours to reach Hile, which means that we need to start walking as soon as possible, but only after the trekkers have enjoyed the best. Within the next few hours, we reach Hile and have lunch. As we wait for a while at Hile, the Adventure Bound Nepal representatives pick you up in a private vehicle and drive you back to the hotel in Pokhara. This finally marks the end of the 3 Day PoonHill Trek.
