This 8 Day Annapurna Base Camp Trek begins with a drive from Pokhara to Nayapul which takes about an hour. This drive through the scenic morning view of the Pokhara lakeside is worth enjoying. Once we reach Nayapul, trekkers shall check their backpacks once and also be confirmed about the permits required.

After that, the guides lead you on the first section of the 8 Day Annapurna Base Camp Trek which goes from Nayapul to Ulleri (2070 meters). As we start the walk, we will shortly have to cross the Modi River and then we will reach the check post. Here, the trekkers will have to get their Annapurna Conservation Area Project permit checked. From here we need to take an easy stroll as we pass the Bhurungdi Khola and enter Hile. After that, we reach Ulleri by passing through Tikhedhunga.

After spending one night in Ulleri, we’ll wake up in the morning, have breakfast, and then set off on a walk from Ulleri to Ghorepani. It takes about 5 to 6 hours to reach from 2070 meters to 2875 meters above sea level. This section of the 8 Day Annapurna Base Camp Trek is full of eye-soothing landscapes, greenery, and beautifully settled forest. Moreover, trekkers can also witness the majestic Himalayas glaring at you from a distance.

After ascending for about 5 to 6 hours, we finally reach the final checkpoint of the day after passing through several smaller villages, vegetation, etc. Firstly, we reach from Ulleri to Banthanti and then to Nangethanti, and finally, we reach Ghorepani. Imagine going to the Annapurna Base Camp Trek and not watching the majestic sunrise view from the PoonHill. Ghorepani PoonHill hike is one of the most famous hiking route in Pokhara. Therefore, you will also meet many hikers whose destination is PoonHill itself. Besides the sunrise view, the PoonHill viewpoint is also famous for eye-soothing views of Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Annapurna I Main (8,091m), Himalchuli (7,893m) and their respective massifs.

Along with the sunlight, you can also get amazing views of white snow peaks turning golden due to the sunlight striking the mountain peaks. The PoonHill viewpoint is a famous photography spot due to the amazing landscapes and surrounding settlements. After spending a few hours in PoonHill, we return to Ghorepani. In Ghorepani, Adventure Bound Nepal arranged breakfast in the hotel where we stayed the previous night.

After that, we begin the second part of this day's adventure in the 8 Day Annapurna Base Camp Trek that takes us from PoonHill to Tadapani, a lovely settlement at an altitude of 2650 meters above sea level. However, on the trail from PoonHill to Tadapani, trekkers also pass through some other places including Deurali and Bethanti. From Bethanti, our journey finally takes us to the final destination, Tadapani.

On the fourth day, we ascend to another checkpoint at an altitude of 2340 meters. This place is called Chhomrong Village and it is one of the most beautiful villages in the Annapurna Base Camp Trek. From Tadapani, the trek first descends through rhododendron blooms and then crosses a suspension bridge over the Kimrong Khola. Gradually, we reach Sinuwa to have lunch and then finally reach Chhomrong village. On reaching the final destination of this part of the 8 Day Annapurna Base Camp Trek. During the trail, trekkers pass through many other smaller villages and settlements.

After a cozy and comfortable sleep in the hotel arranged by Adventure Bound, trekkers wake up early in the morning, have their breakfast, and then ascend to another part of the 8 Day Trek to Annapurna Base Camp. On the fifth day, this route takes us to Deurali. In the longer version of Annapurna Base Camp Trek, the route first stops firstly in Dovan and then goes to Deurali.

However, as this is a shorter version of the trek, we go straight up from Sinuwa to Deurali. Deurali is a beautiful village at an altitude of 3230 meters. Therefore, trekkers need to be very careful about altitude sickness while ascending this part of the 8 Day Annapurna Base Camp Trek. This route offers majestic views of mystical mountain peaks, landscapes, and green surroundings. For an overnight stay and dinner, we will stay back in Deurali.

Finally, it's the day when we reach the final destination of this entire package, the Annapurna Base Camp. Now, we are on a descending journey as we wake up in the seventh day. Trekkers will have their breakfast in the hotel before the guides lead them on the descending path towards Sinuwa. Sharing their experiences, talking about the memories they made, and having a glimpse of the mind-blowing landscapes, the trekkers reach Sinuwa within 6 to 7 hours of walking.

Trekkers can spend the rest of the day interacting with the locals and then have dinner in the hotel before heading towards their room to sleep.

It's the eighth day today, which means, we officially end the 8 Day Annapurna Base Camp Trek on this day. However, the last day brings in more hours to walk as the trekkers descend from Sinuwa to Matque via Jhinudanda. This journey takes them about 7 hours. Once you reach Matque, our representatives will pick you up in a private vehicle and drop you off at the hotel where you started the trek. Besides, you can also choose any alternative ways to go from Matque. However, we recommend trekkers to head back to the hotel and rest for that day. This officially ends the 8 Day Trek to Annapurna Base Camp package with Adventure Bound Nepal.

How Difficult is the 8 Day Annapurna Base Camp Trek?

The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is considered to be a moderately difficult trekking route in Nepal. However, that might not be the scenario for the 8 Day Annapurna Base Camp Trek because there are no acclimatization days at all. The trekkers need to walk for 8 days straight which might not be as easy as we think for a lot of trekkers. Especially for the trekkers with no prior experience, this might be very difficult.

If we go with the maximum altitude, trekkers just have to ascend to 4310 meters above sea level. This is not very high if we compare it with any other base camp treks in Nepal like the Everest Base Camp.
