About Bhairab Kunda Trekking
Bhairab Kunda Trekking is a fabulous journey through the off-the-beaten route. It is also taken as the pilgrimage trek to the Lake of Bhairab, who is the reincarnation of Shiva according to the Sanskrit mythology. The trail is isolated and it leads you through the traditional settlements of the ethnic groups and is rewarded by the spectacular Himalayan scenery. The Hindu and Buddhist devotees pay their homage once in a year by traveling there at the holy Lake.
The Bhairab Kunda Lake is located at 4200 meters altitude. It is popular as the destination, where all your sins will be washed out if you reached there. The foothill excursion begins from Jalbire and goes through the remote and off-touristy part. The trekking region lies close to the Tibetan border, which is at least trekking part of Nepal. During the trek, you can enjoy the journey through the remotely located villages and the typical culture of the ethnic groups. The Himalayan views of the north entice the trekkers. The most amazing part of the trek comes as you reach to the top at 4200 meters altitude, where the Bhairab Kunda lies. It is an excellent viewpoint of the surrounding greenery and the Lake itself, including the Himalayan sceneries as Langtang, Jugal and Rolwaling range. A week foot hill excursion ends at Larcha, near Tatopani in Kodari Highway and drive back to Kathmandu.
