About Jumla – Rara Lake Trekking
Rara Lake trekking is one of the exiting trekking trails, situated in Mugu district in the Karnali Zone, the far western region of Nepal, nearby Gam Ghadi, the district headquarter of Mugu. It takes about three to four days trek to reach Rara Lake side from Jumla airport. The region is known for long ridges covered with temperate forests and alpine pastures, enclosed with high valleys, these all the features have made the trekking one of the exiting trekking. Rara Lake is the largest Lakes in Nepal. The attraction of this trekking is that you will not only have chance to explore the beautiful Rara Lake surrounded by alpine meadows and forest alone but also the nearby Rara National Park, adjoined with the Lake.
The Park is the home to animals such as Himalayan black bear, red panda to name a few. You can explore the Himalayan vegetation and observe different kinds of birds, wild animals, and unique landscapes, have stunning Himalayn Panorama, explore the serene Rara Lake and typical village life. The trekking to Rara Lake begins with flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj, subsequently to Jumla and trek continuously for three or four days and reach around Rara Lake and Rara National Park side and explore around and return back from same route to Jumla and fly back to Pokhara or Nepalgunj and subsequently to Kathmandu.
