The Tilicho Lake, also believed to be the highest altitude lake in the world, is a lake in the Himalayan belt that collects the glacial melt of the entire Northern slpes of the mighty Annapurna and Thorang Peak. The Tilicho Lake Trekking takes you on a journey through the premises of the lake, enticing you from the start to the end of your trek.
Tilicho Lake TrekkingIt was mentioned in the Holy Ramayan, an ancient Hindu book, that the lake is a holy spirit. So in 2001, Hindu pilgrims from all over the world gathered here for worship and pilgrimage.
The Tilicho Lake Trekking, like the Annapurna Circuit Trekking, starts from Besisahar and extends alongside the Marshyangdi river. One can witness majestic views of the Manaslu and the Himal Chuli in the eastern view of the trail. The trail also leads you through a village inhabited by different ethnic groups where you can meet a wide variety of people and offers the same majestic view along way. Although basically the same as Annapurna Circuit trekking, our trekking package is customized. Instead of ascending the valley North to Tanki Manang and Yak Kharka, this trek takes you through the main valley to the West passes. The Khanshar Village, also known as the last village of Nepal, falls along the way as we trek up towards the Tilicho Lake. We then reach Thorung La which is at an altitude of 5416 meters form the sea level. From there, we head down to Muktinath and then to Jomsom. The trek ends with a five minutes scenic flight to Pokhara.
Tilicho Lake Trekking is among the most challenging and exciting treks that we offer. We provide the option of crossing the challenging Moesokanta La Pass to Jomsom instead of the usual trek through the Thorung La Pass. Good additional equipments are required along with properly equipped tented camps. The option to take the Moesokanta route is always there and we are ready to serve what you desire. The beginning of March to the end of May is the best time to take the Tilicho Lake Trekking. You may also visit during the beginning of September to the end of December. As always, the details of itinerary can always be chosen as per your desire and holiday requirements.
