Trisuli River RaftingFrom Manang village Gangapurna is very close at a stone throw distance; its glacier is one of the main source of the river Marsyangdi. An expedition from the southern route passes through the popular main trail of Annapurna Sanctuary, but from Maccahapuchare Base Camp 3 hours ahead from the Annapurna Base Camp. The route diverts towards more north walking close to the bottom of Annapurna III and on the East Annapurna glacier till Gangapurna base camp is reached on the glacier and moraine very close to the base camp of Annapurana III.
Gangapurna peak rise high above the Manang valley with breathtaking views across to the Annapurnas II, III and IV, Gangapurna, Glacier Dome, Dhaulagiri, Tilicho Peak and Manaslu. The climb is combined with the classic trek around the Annapurna massif, ascending the Marsyangdi valley. The climb is technically straightforward and, you should be familiar with the use of your equipment, crampons, harness, ice axe, tying knots and handling climbing ropes. Most of the climbing will be involved walking roped together, including the glacial crossings. You should be very fit and have good experience of climbing.
