Tsum valley trekking is one of the recently opened trekking trails in Nepal. It was restricted for trekking purpose for many years. Tsum vally is located in a trans-Himalayan region of Gorkha, which is hidden valley circled by the Baudha Himal and Himal Chuli to the west, Ganesh Himal to the South and Sringi Himal to the north, is considered to be a sacred Himalayan pilgrimage.
Tsum Valley Trekking The valley is bounded by three high passes – the Ngula Dhoj Hyang (5093 m) to the west and Yamdro Pass (5326 m) to the north. The local people are mostly of Tibetan origin and own a unique dialect. It is believed that there used by the kingdom of Tsum, the remains of the Tsum Kingdom are still visible today. The valley has been one of the sacred due to its remoteness and inaccessibility. The trails combines with the artistic chhortens, lined up with the Buddhists monasteries, mani walls carried with drawings of deities and inscribed with prayers. The Tsum Valley is associated with Tibet, natural beauty and its pristine culture makes this trekking unique. The word ‘Tsum’ is derived from the Tibetan word that means a vivid. Tsum valley trekking commences from Arughat in Gorkha district,which is easily accessible from Kathmandu.

Day 05 :Trek to Yaru khola

Day 07 :Trek to Chumling (Lower Tsum)

Day 08 :Trek to Chhokangparo (Upper Tsum)

Day 09 :Trek to Nile/Chhule, visit Milarepa Piren Phu Cave on the way

Day 10 :Trek to Mu Gompa (3700 m), visit Dhephyudonma Gompa (4060 m)

Day 11 :Trek to Rachen Gompa, visit Gonhgye Gompa (Nyigma-pa Buddhist sect)

Day 12 :Trek to Dumje

Day 13 :Trek to Philim (cross Ripchet)

Day 14 :Trek to Tatopani

Day 15 :Trek to Lapubeshi

Day 16 :Trek to Arughat Bazar

Day 17 :Drive back to Kathmandu by bus

  • Nepal entry visa: you can obtain a visa easily upon your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu. (A multiple-entry tourist visa good for 30 days can be obtained by paying US $ 40 or equivalent foreign currency. Similarly, multiple-entry tourist visas for 90 days can be obtained by paying US $ 100. Please bring 2 copies of passport-size photos and the cash for visa)
